A little over a week to go before we pop the cork on the newest venue for the NW Cup with Tamarack Bike Park. This is going to be a level playing field as not many of us have ever even been there, including us until yesterday. Casey hopped a flight over to check the lay of the land and…..it’s going to be awesome!!! He spent the day getting the full tour of the are and was blown away!
There will be different tracks for each category, and all of them are sick apparently. Everyone will start in the same spot and disperse, coming back together into a sweet, raw, wide open, old school finish. And oh yeah, he says the dirt is amazing too.
The park has everything you will need with sweet lodging, food & beverage. There will be ample room to set up pits adjacent to the finish area. As some of you have heard, we can’t camp onsite though so keep that in mind. In the future we should be able to make that happen but it will take a little more planning on our part. That said, as Casey was driving in from Boise, he passed campground after campground all situated on a beautiful lake. Treat it similarly to Port Angeles, with the option of lodging on-site and the camping is closer.
The Tamarack crew are adding some custom sections for the race so not 100% sure we’ll have pre-ride vids of the tracks, but we’ll do our best. Now that we’ve set eyes on it, and Casey has ridden the tracks, we are even more stoked to take our second dip into Idaho.
