2015 NW Cup Stuff

We’ve been busy getting things going for year 8 of the NW Cup.  As you’ve probably seen, our schedule as it stands now has been released with an extra race and a new venue, Silver Mountain Bike Park in Kellogg, ID.  They’ve done a ton of work in the last couple years and it should be a pretty sweet weekend of racing….and water sliding.

The opening round in April will also be a Pro GRT with UCI points for our first time ever.  We already have some commitments from a few World Cup level teams which is always a sweet way to kick-off the season.

Thanks everyone for participating and making it all worth while.

The Finals are Finally here….Finally!

Port Angeles’ Dry Hill is sure to live up to it’s name this weekend as we have enjoyed an epic summer in the PNW that just doesn’t seem to want to quit.  Everyone will enjoy a track that they haven’t yet ridden this year (at least parts of them).

It’s been another great year of racing and there are quite a few categories that will be decided on Sunday.  We will be giving out Season Overall Awards at the end of the day just as fast as we can calculate them.  Remember, your lowest result will be dropped (even if it’s a did not show), if you upgrade categories, you forfeit all previous points (we need your help with this, let us know if you or someone you know upgraded and their points stuck with them.), and YOU MUST BE AT THE FINALS TO QUALIFY FOR AN OVERALL AWARD.  Other prizing rules are:  There must be at least 3 racers in a category to be eligible for an overall prize; You must participate in at least 4 events to qualify for an overall prize.

Overalls after 5 with all points displayed (updated 8/27)

The last one is the Overalls with all points shown.  We have made an adjustment.  For the Silver Star round we applied “seeding run” points rather than “race” points.

Also, please, if you have upgraded categories during the year without changing your plate number, send me an email letting me know exactly what changed.  scott@nwcup.com  Also, if you see someone in your class that has changed categories, you can let me know as well.

Time to start tightening everything on your bike in preparation for the 3rd round of the 2014 NW Cup @ the legendary Skibowl venue.  Dry Hill has been fun and all, but it’s time to get a taste of some old school, rocky, FAST downhill with your host Petr Kakes of Hurricane Racing.  You’ll only get one shot to steal points from your classmates at Skibowl this year, so make it count.
